Bryan Walls Hutson

July 17, 1933 - Aug 23, 2017


Bryan Walls Hutson, 84 of Newark, passed away 23 August 2017 in Hockessin, Delaware. He was born 17 July 1933 in Greensboro, Maryland to Ralph Hutson of Maryland and Amanda May Ouseley Hutson of Delaware. He graduated from Delaware’s Claymont High School in 1951 and attended Lincoln Prep & the University of Pennsylvania before moving on to careers at Sunoco, Continental Helicopters, Delaware Cold Storage and Viking Yachts. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Ann Bernardine Crunden Hutson, who passed away 14 November 2007 in Memphis, TN. Together, they flew fixed & rotor wing aircraft, fished the Delaware Bay from Cape May, captained sailboats along the Eastern Seaboard, bred Great Danes and raised a family.

Survivors include son, Christopher Allan Hutson; daughter, (Cheryl) Cheri Ann Hutson; grandson, Andrew James Hutson; sisters, Charlotte Edna Gadsby (Edward) and Claire Sue Cooper (Robert); niece, Susan Leigh Cooper Hamilton; and nephew, Whitney Hutson Gadsby.

The committal service is Friday, September 8 at 11am at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware. The Chapel permits no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christina Conservancy online at christinaconservancy.org
